30.08.2008 - Norsk Vauxhall Klubb meeting

Last weekend we (me & sprog) attended Norsk Vauxhall Klubbs meeting at Utvika Camping located at Tyrifjorden south of Hønefoss. We left home early Saturday morning and teamed up with Rune Maurud and his wife/girlfriend (???? sorry I didn't catch the "status"..) in a nice Velox at Løten. We drove together down to the campingresort passing Gjøvik - Jevnaker - Klekken - Sundvollen.

All the way the SL was running bad. Only at full choke it ran quite ok. I suspected wrong air/fuel mixture to be the problem as I'd changed all ignition parts before the trip. Finally at Utvika I asked around to see if anyone had a good tip for me to solve the problem. During the way down I'd checked every parts that could be the cause to the problems. John Olsen said it might be a chance it was the new coil that was tricking me. He had a used spare one I could lend. We changed it and that was the cure.

The rest of Saturday was spent on a roundtrip arond Tyrifjorden. We went up to Dronningens Utsikt ("Queens Wiew") were there was an amazing wiew over the lake and the surrounding landscape. After arriving back at the camping in the evening the club had organized a big partytent and barbeques down on the beach. The sprog found some new friends and spent the afternoon at the playground with them. It was a very nice weekend getting together with new and old friends.
